The best city cars ever: Renault Twizy
With no need to pay for fuel or the London congestion charge, the battery-powered Renault Twizy stakes a claim as the ultimate city car of its era. In fact, this electric runabout is classified as a heavy quadricycle, and its absence of side doors or windows means that it doesn't feel much like a conventional car at the wheel. That's part of the appeal, however, and with the wind whipping around you and the electric motor pushing you forward surprisingly quickly and quietly, it's one of the most memorable driving experiences on four wheels. It'll fit into the tiniest parking spaces too, but the ride is crashy and this is is the only car here that's really out of its depth outside city limits, with a maximum range of about 62 miles when fully charged.
