Eight Pakistanis arrested targeted labour camps and company premises.
The police arrested two of the gang red-handed.
The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police have arrested a
gang of eight persons of Pakistani nationality specialising in crimes
involving assault and theft.
Acting on a large number of complaints from the Sharjah Industrial Area,
involving a gang attacking guards and workers, beating them up and then
stealing cash and equipment, the Sharjah CID formed a team which then
tracked down the gang members.
The CID then laid a trap and arrested two gang members, MMS, 40, and GMK, 21, red-handed.
The two gave up the other six gang members.
During the interrogation, the accused told the police they climbed
fences of company premises and sneaked into the labour camp, after which
they stripped their victims, beat them and robbed them.
Laptops, wallets, mobile phones, cameras and TVs were all robbed and loaded into a small truck they used.
They also robbed large quantities of electric cables.
All have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
